The book documents eight groups of people who squeezed the toothpaste in different ways. Some of the information is from the author's intimate relationships and other related family groups. Represented is a collection through a variety of family photographs and texts. toothpaste is frequently used in daily life, it's very easy for people to ignore. When I collect them, I discover the toothpaste can represent a person's identity. However, when I collected it from a family community, I found the toothpaste can be seen as a form to present an intimate relationship which involves closeness and distance. It's intriguing. Although it's not as conscious as humans, every toothpaste that accompanies us is a different version of ourselves.
