Crowds and Power is an interactive installation piece that empolys a Chinese family role-playing activity which aims to reduce the distance between the Chinese students and Western students. The project also embodies how participants can be relaxed and open in a small community. I was inspired with Lazy Susan* and used the idea of a circular table from my cultural background to produce intimacy between the participants and the work. This project emerged from earlier experimental projects which played with the placement of objects and analysed the display of food and set design.
